Basic Tractor Operation Picture This
What’s wrong in this picture?
Failure to observe safety precautions when operating tractors and attachments can result in serious injury or death. In the picture above the operator is using a tractor with a mowing implement. He is not wearing his safety belt. While mowing on a slope, the tractor can roll to the side, pinning him between the rollover protective structure (ROPS) and the ground. He might die from his injuries.
Operators must be trained/experienced enough to do the job
To prevent tractor accidents, read and follow directions in the equipment operator’s manual. Pay attention to safety instructions in the manual and warning labels you see on the equipment. If you have questions, stop, and ask your supervisor before you continue.
Reduce the risk of injuries and fatalities by providing practical guidance on how to manage various tractor hazards.
