Dust Hazards in Construction – Picture This

What’s wrong in this picture? There is a construction worker who is working around excessive dust and he is not wearing any proper PPE to avoid dust hazards.

Dust is one of those hazards that come with the construction work territory. Depending on what particulate matter is in the dust, OSHA says workers could react with something as unpleasant as an allergic reaction or a much more serious lung condition.

When dust comes to working in construction, you have to be ready to get dirty. Whether you’re renovating a building or constructing a new house, dust and dirt are part of the job. When there is an excess of dust and dirt traveling through the air though, it can become dangerous for your workers’ health.

So it is important to wear protective equipment such as powered face masks to avoid dust hazards on worker’s health.
