First Nation Penalized $100,000 for Failing to Comply with Environmental Order

After an inspection by enforcement officers at Loon Lake Fine Foods to ensure compliance with the Storage Tank Systems for Petroleum Products and Allied Petroleum Products Regulations, the First Nation was directed to take measures to comply with the regulations, which it failed to do. The First Nation pleaded guilty to failing to comply with an environmental protection compliance order. The court ordered it to pay $100,000 to the Environmental Damages Fund.
