Florida Manufacturer Cited for Alleged Willful, Serious Violations
OSHA issued one willful citation for failure to leave an exit door unlocked, despite an earlier warning from local fire officials. Also cited were seven alleged serious safety violations, including storing liquid propane tanks near an exit route and storing too many tanks of the explosive gas inside the building. Other serious violations include alleged electrical hazards, slip and fall hazards, lack of eye protection, lack of a hearing conservation program, amputation hazards and no lockout/tagout program to prevent the unintended startup of machinery. Total penalties of $64,250 have been proposed.
