Ice Cream Company Issued $90,500 in Proposed Fines for 22 Alleged Serious Violations

The majority of the citations allege deficiencies in the plant’s Process Safety Management (PSM) program, specifically with reference to hazard analyses, written operating procedures, inspections, testing, incident reviews and other requirements surrounding more than 10,000 pounds of anhydrous ammonia used in the refrigeration system. Other alleged serious violations involve unguarded floors/platforms, electrical hazards, no emergency eyewash stations where required and inadequate lockout procedures.
