Migrant hotel worker killed in kitchen accident

A migrant worker was electrocuted while working in the kitchen of a hotel near the medical college hospital on Friday evening.

The deceased has been identified by police as Bappa Barman, 33, son of Nandu Barman of Cooch Behar of West Bengal.

Bappa Barman was electrocuted from a grinder inside the kitchen. Barman was seen lying on the floor when the owner of the hotel reached the kitchen hearing a noise.

Soon he was rushed to the medical college hospital, where he was declared dead.

Barman has been working at the hotel for the last couple of months.

The body of Barman has been handed over to his relatives after postmortem and inquest proceedings at the medical college hospital.

Medical College police registered a case under section 174 of CrPC for unnatural death.
