A little about us, the Latino Worker Safety Center is a not for profit 501c3 – In CY2010, the LWSC was created through an OSHA Capacity Building Grant with the intent of establishing a dedicated Spanish language safety training and resource center. Since then, our focus has been on the workers and businesses in the immigrant communities. We have trained thousands of English, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese and Polish speaking workers, and their companies to understand their rights to a safe workplace and how to be compliant with the Department of Labor/OSHA safety requirements. Jon Cordoba has been working in the construction industry since his teenage years. Starting as a carpenter, he began his safety career working for one of the largest home builders in the country. Jon has since worked for large organizations that span the renewable energy, telecommunications, utility, mining, and construction industries. Sherrie received a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from Hawthorne University, Paramedic training at the University Texas Health Science Center, Dallas, Texas, a graduate of Landmark Education and GAP Leadership Programs. She has served as adjunct Health & Safety faculty for Texas A&M University, Texas Engineer Extension Service (TEEX), Oklahoma State University. Sherrie received her Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming from the Association for Integrative Psychology.
